Louth Junior Councillors visited Dail Eireann on Wednesday 21st March 2007.
The visit formed part of the Junior Councils calendar of activities during their term in office.
The group were accompanied on the visit by Louth Councillors, Cllr Jim Ryan and Cllr Jacqui Mc Conville and Louth County Council Officials Therese Mc Ardle and Mary Capplis.
On arrival at the Dail, the Louth Party were warmly welcomed by all four TD’s from Louth - Minister Dermot Ahern; Seamus Kirk TD; Fergus O Dowd TD and Arthur Morgan TD.
The group observed proceeding in both the Dail and Seannad chambers and were given an overview of the history of the house.
Throughout the visit, Louth Junior Councillors were shown first hand how national government works. It proved to be a very worthwhile visit and no doubt whetted some appetites for political life in the future.
